Norfolk Polonia CIC is a Polish and non-governmental organisation working for minority groups in Norfolk, particularly Central and Eastern Europeans.

Our organisation was established in 2018 and provides community support to Poles, the local community and ethnic minority groups living in the area. From 2019, we will work officially with the Consular Section of the Polish Embassy in London and Norwich City Council, and from 2021 we will manage the West Earlham Community Centre. We also look after the graves of Polish Air Force pilots in Norfolk and Suffolk. From 2024, our main focus will be on social issues and the promotion of Poles in the UK, but we also aim to provide cultural events and maintain a sense of national identity.

The organisations are managed by: Pawel Jelenski (Director; co-founder), Dorota Darnell (Director; co-founder), Hanna Jaskiewicz (Director), Jakub Pucilowski (Secretary) and supported by  volunteers, including: Graham (Team Leader), Mariola, Agnieszka, Barbara, Grzegorz and Malgorzata.

Other services

As part of our activities, we also provide access to culture, education for young people and sport, and act as a liaison with the Polish Embassy in London.

We have been collecting Polish books since 2018. We have a collection of almost 600 books on various subjects.

For a variety of reasons beyond our control, we are not currently issuing passports, but we continue to assist people in difficult circumstances (e.g. victims of violence) to obtain a passport on an expedited basis with the approval of the consuls in London. Please contact us if you require such assistance.

We run a football group that meets every Friday from March to October (at NR1 4HL Park) for a good sporting day in a relaxed atmosphere. Please contact us on 07492 012 200 if you are interested.

Cooperation and grants

Our activities are based on close cooperation with various organisations and our own groups that have found their place with us in our community centre.

We cooparate with Norwich City Council, MP Clive Lewis, the local police, the Consular Section of the Polish Embassy in London or Polish Community Hub in Ipswich, as well as UK organisations such as GYROS, Leeway, NCLS, Future Projects and Norfolk Citizens Advice.
